OUR VISION
In response to a 2002 client survey and staff and Board
strategic planning sessions, SSCAC is well-positioned to
look to the next three years with the following vision: "SSCAC
is committed to maintaining existing services, expanding
services, and exploring new partnerships for service delivery
to reach more low income residents with innovative and
effective programs. SSCAC will continue to promote programs
for families and for young mothers that will help them
move forward.”
In 2002, SSCAC served 11,026 households (over 20,000 people),
6,521of whom reside on the South Shore, 4,505 of whom reside
on Cape Cod and the Islands. According to the 2000 census
and other sources, while Massachusetts experienced a 5.5%
population growth rate from 1990 thru 2000, the South Shore
grew 9.4%. It is estimated the South Shore will grow at
2.5 times the state rate for the period 2000 to 2005! With
rising housing costs and a faltering economy, the demand
for our services continues to rise!
SSCAC is funded through private, local, state and federal
sources. SSCAC is accredited by the National Academy of
Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association
for the Education of Young Children, for demonstrating "substantial
compliance with nationally recognized Criteria for high-quality
early childhood programs." |
