South Shore Early Education, a South Shore Community Action Council program, is a private non-profit providing multi-level program support on the South Shore, Wareham, Cape Cod, and the Islands.
Located in Plymouth, South Shore Early Education seeks a full-time Head Start Preschool teacher.
POSITION: 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and implement daily lesson & curriculum plans using creative curriculum. Creates and maintains a safe and healthy physical environment that fosters physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Perform teaching activities that align with the Head Start Performance Standards regulations. Meal assistance, Bus Monitoring, and other various activities as assigned.
Schedule:
10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
Base hourly rate:
with CDA: $24.00/hr.
with AA/AS: $25.00/hr.
with BA/BS: $27.00/hr.
Core Qualifications:
Commonwealth of Massachusetts EEC Preschool certification is required. CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early childhood (or related field) preferred. Must be able to speak and understand English. Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Arabic are helpful, although not required.
**Minimum Requirements for Employment: **
• All candidates must undergo a CORI, DCF, SORI, and fingerprint background check before beginning employment.

• Valid MA state driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
