Door-to-door transportation for the elderly and individuals with disabilities in handicap accessible vans.

SSCAC provides door-to-door Transportation for people who are elderly and/or disabled so they can access critical programs and services they need. Our Transportation services are provided Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. If you are elderly or have a disability, you may be eligible for transportation to and from:

  • Adult Day Health Programs
  • Dialysis
  • Doctor and Dental Visits
  • Non-Emergency Hospital Visits
  • Shopping Trips
  • Social/Recreational Events
  • Employment/Welfare to Work Programs
  • Educational Facilities
  • Metro Boston Hospitals and Other Medical Facilities

Am I Eligible?

Transportation services are primarily available through a closed referral system, which means you may need a PT1 from your health care provider or insurance carrier. SSCAC contracts with area Adult Day Health Programs, GATRA, MART, South Shore Elder Services, Old Colony Elderly Service as well as several towns throughout our service area.


We are also an authorized vendor of the MA Division of Medical Assistance (DMA). Eligible trips may be billed to one of the agencies mentioned above, or privately to the client.

Reasonable Modification of Policies and Practices


SSCAC will make every attempt to make reasonable modifications to their polices, practices and procedures to avoid discrimination and ensure programs and services are accessible to all individuals with disabilities. The modification may require advance notice; but when feasible, SSCAC will maintain flexibility in handling requests only practicable on the spot. 


  • Requesters must describe what they need to use the service.
  • Requesters do not need to use the phrase, “reasonable modification.”
  • Requesters may call 508-747-7575 x6229 or ask their driver for on the spot requests.

SSCAC Title VI and ADA


Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), or disability for programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.


Any person who believes him/herself or any specific class of persons, to be subjected to discrimination prohibited by Title VI (race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency)) or the ADA (disability) may him/herself or his/her representative file a written complaint with SSCAC, Inc.. A complaint must be filed no later than 180 days after the date of the alleged discrimination, unless the time for filing is extended by SSCAC, Inc..
