Transportation Manager - Plymouth

South Shore Early Education, a program of the South Shore Community Action Council, a private non-profit organization providing multi-level program support on the South Shore, Wareham, Cape Cod, and the Islands, is seeking a Transportation Manager at their Plymouth location. This position consists of a 37.5-hour workweek, 52 weeks per year, and includes all agency benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience, licenses, training profile, and education.

POSITION: 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Core Responsibilities:

Recruits and trains bus drivers. Plans, schedules, and dispatches school bus routes for safe transportation of students to and from school, field trips, etc. Schedules, requests, and coordination of the maintenance and reconditioning of all bus transport vehicles; this includes ordering all necessary replacement parts to ensure that all vehicles are available for use. Maintains compliance of fleet in accordance with the Head Start Act and other program regulations. Maintains records and completes the necessary forms for reporting mileage and student data for reimbursement of transportation costs. Supervises and evaluates school bus drivers and transportation staff, including providing leadership where needed. Implements the DOT drug and bat screening program, including all federal motor carrier aspects of the program, including tracking all physicals, reporting on the FMSCA, sending employees to testing sites, etc. Maintains attendance records. Trainer in CPR, First Aid, and other mandatory training.

Core Qualifications:

AA/AS in business management required, or BA/BS or a related field preferred; however, 5-7 years of demonstrated supervisory experience may be substituted for a degree. Director II early childhood certification (and experience) preferred, although not required. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and random testing are required throughout employment. Must have a successful background in the supervision of team members. Possess a CDL License with School Bus Driver and Passenger Endorsement. First Aid/CPR trainer preferred. Attend required onsite and community meetings. Bilingual (Portuguese, Arabic, or Spanish) preferred, although not required. All candidates must have a current medical certificate, current MMR Documentation, current TB test, statements of CORI/DCF Background check and fingerprinting, an employment application prior to beginning employment.
