For over 60 years, SSCAC has served as a trusted community compass, acting as the first call, steady guide, and safe harbor for thousands of neighbors moving toward financial stability. While our core programs deliver essential building blocks like home heating assistance, transportation, early education, and food, true progress requires more than meeting immediate needs.


Contributions to the Community Compass - SSCAC's unrestricted sustainability and innovation fund - ensure SSCAC has flexible resources to act quickly when new opportunities emerge and to respond at the speed of need.

SSCAC is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) committed to fighting poverty and creating opportunities for low-income people on the South Shore. We work hard to ensure 94 cents of every dollar we receive is used on programs and services that help those who need it most.

SSCAC’s fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30.

    All checks should be made payable to South Shore Community Action Council and mailed to the following address. Any gift restrictions can be noted in the check memo line or via an accompanying note.
